Domenico Severin

Domenico Severin (* 1967 ) is an Italian organist .

Life

Severin studied organ with Sergio de Pieri at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello in Venice and music theory at the Conservatory of Boulogne-Billancourt with Naji Hakim . He attended master classes with Michael Radulescu , Harald Vogel , Marie Zacher , Michel Chapius , Marie-Claire Alain , Pierre Cogen , Daniel Roth , Arturo Sacchetti , Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini , Lionel Rogg and Guy Bovet . He is titular organist at the great organ of St. Etienne Cathedral in Meaux .

Severin took part in numerous international organ festivals in Europe and the USA and performed as a concert organist in China, Hong Kong and South Africa. One focus of his repertoire is the little-known Italian organ music of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He also presented a complete recording of César Franck's organ works . He also emerged as a composer , wrote an essay on the registration practice of European organ music and is the artistic director of the Appassionato CD label, which he founded .
