Andrei Witaljewitsch Larkow ( Russian Андрей Витальевич Ларьков ; born November 25, 1989 in the Tatar ASSR , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

Larkow mainly participated in the Eastern Europe Cup from 2008 to 2014 . He ran his first World Cup race in December 2012 in Canmore , which he finished with seventh place in the 15 km mass start race and thus also scored his first World Cup points. In the Tour de Ski 2012/13 and the Tour de Ski 2013/14 he reached 32nd place and 34th place in the overall standings. At the Russian Long-Distance Ski Championships in 2014 in Tyumen , he won silver in the 30 km skiathlon and in the 50 km mass start race. At the Tour de Ski 2015 he came in 23rd place. In January 2015 he won three gold medals at the Winter Universiade in Štrbské Pleso . At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , he finished 27th in the 50 km mass start race and 26th in the 15 km freestyle. In the 2015/16 season he came in 26th place in the 2016 Tour de Ski and 11th in the Ski Tour Canada . In the overall World Cup, he finished 21st. After finishing 16th at the beginning of the 2016/17 season at the World Cup Mini Tour in Lillehammer , he finished 22nd at the 2016/17 Tour de Ski . At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he won the silver medal with the relay. He was also eighth in the skiathlon and fifth in the 15 km classic. At the end of the season, he finished eighth in the World Cup finals in Québec and reached 19th place in the overall World Cup and 16th place in the Distance World Cup. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he finished 25th in the Ruka Triple and tenth in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 . He reached his first podium in the World Cup with second place in the 15 km mass start race in Lenzerheide . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he won the bronze medal in the 50 km mass start race and the silver medal in the relay. At the end of the season he came in 11th place at the World Cup finals in Falun and reached 20th place in the Distance World Cup and 18th place in the overall World Cup.

In the 2018/19 season, Larkow finished sixth in the Lillehammer Triple, tenth in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and eleventh in the World Cup finals in Québec. In addition, he achieved second place in the relay in Ulricehamn and third place in the 50 km mass start race in Oslo, and at the end of the season he reached 12th place in the overall World Cup and seventh place in the Distance World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , he won the silver medal with the relay. In the classic 15 km race, he came fourth there. After finishing 11th in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he finished second in the relay in Lillehammer . In the Tour de Ski 2019/20 he came in 13th place and in the 2020 ski tour in 17th place, reaching 14th place in the Distance World Cup and 13th place in the overall World Cup.
