Polina Olegowna Kalsina b. Medvedeva ( Russian Полина Олеговна Кальсина ; born March 20, 1989 in Nizhny Tagil ) is a Russian cross-country skier .

Career

From 2007 to 2014, Kalsina mainly participated in the Eastern Europe Cup . She got two wins and finished second in the 2010/11 season. She ran her first World Cup race in March 2010 in Drammen , which she finished with 29th place in the sprint and thus also won her first World Cup points. In December 2011 she achieved her best individual World Cup result so far with seventh place in the 10 km mass start race in Rogla . In the Tour de Ski 2011/12 she finished 19th. At the U23 World Championships 2012 in Erzurum , she won silver over 10 km classic. She finished the 2011/12 season in 27th place in the overall World Cup ranking and 23rd in the distance ranking. At the Tour de Ski 2013/14 she reached 31st place in the overall ranking. After 36th place in the World Cup mini tour in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, she achieved 26th place in the Tour de Ski 2016 and 23rd place in the Ski Tour Canada . In the following season, she finished 30th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer and 20th in the Tour de Ski 2016/17 . At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she came in 24th place over 10 km classic, 14th place in the skiathlon and fifth place with the relay. She finished the season in 37th place in the overall World Cup and in 30th place in the Distance World Cup.
