Triin Ojaste (born March 14, 1990 in Tartu , then Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic , Soviet Union ) is an Estonian cross-country skier .

Triin Ojaste is the daughter of the biathlete Kalju Ojaste . She lives in Otepää and starts for the Oti Sportclub . The student competed internationally for the first time in 2007 in a race of the Scandinavia Cup and was in Jõulumäe 30th of a 5-kilometer race. Up until the Junior World Championships in 2008 in Val Venosta , the Estonian started primarily in this racing series. At the World Championships she came in 34th place in the sprint, was 61st over 10 kilometers and reached 14th place with the relay. Ojaste contested her first cross-country skiing world cup race in November 2008 in Kuusamo , where she was 62nd in the sprint. Then she reached three single-digit placements in three FIS races in Lapinlahti . It was Ojaste's first international top ten results. The 2009 Junior World Championships in Le Praz-de-Lys-Sommand brought quite good results . With 13th place in the sprint and 12th place in the pursuit, the Estonian achieved her best Junior World Championship results. There was also a 31st place over 5 kilometers. After the Junior World Championships, Ojaste was also nominated for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2009 in Liberec . In the Czech Republic she reached the 37th place in the sprint and came with the relay on the 15th and thus last place. At the start of the 2009/10 season managed Ojaste in Dusseldorf first the way into the finals with a sprint competition. With the 23rd place she won World Cup points for the first time in her career. This secured her the nomination for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver . There the youngest participant of the Estonian Olympic team failed in the sprint competition as 37th but just failed to qualify for the finals. In the team sprint, she and Kaija Udras were eliminated in the semifinals and finished in 15th place. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten she finished 15th in the sprint. Over 5 kilometers she was 13th and 39th in the pursuit competition. In a preparatory competition for the 2010/11 season in Muonio , Ojaste won both the qualification and the final run. At the World Cup in Dusseldorf she moved into the quarter-finals again and finished 29th. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , Norway , she missed qualifying for the finals of the sprint competition as 34th. In the team sprint, she and Piret Pormeister were eliminated in the semi-finals and finished in 11th place. At the beginning of the 2011/12 season she reached the quarter-finals in both Kuusamo and Düsseldorf. In the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons she mainly competed in the Scandinavian Cup. Her best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 13th place in the relay and 25th place in the sprint. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , she reached 45th place over 10 km classic and 48th place in sprint.
