Jonas Dobler (born May 4, 1991 ) is a German cross-country skier . He has been part of the customs ski team since 2012 .

Career

Dobler, who starts for the Traunstein Ski Club, competed in junior races until 2011. He took second place in the U20 overall ranking of the Alpine Cup in the 2010/11 season . From 2011 to 2014 he took part in the predominantly Alpine Cup, which he in 2013 finished in fourth place in the standings. At the German cross-country skiing championships in 2013 he won bronze four times. He ran his first World Cup race in December 2011 in Rogla , which he finished in 49th place in the 15 km mass start race. He got his first World Cup points at the Tour de Ski 2013/14 , which he finished with 21st place. At the beginning of the 2014/15 season, he was mostly placed outside of the points in the World Cup. He finished the Tour de Ski 2015 in 16th place overall. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2015 in Falun , he came 31st place over 15 km freestyle, 27th place in the skiathlon and seventh place with the relay. After finishing 24th at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished 17th at the Tour de Ski 2016 . In the Ski Tour Canada he came in 25th place at the end of the season and reached the 27th place in the overall World Cup. His best individual World Cup result in the 2016/17 season was 21st place over 15 km classic in Otepää . His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti were 21st place in the skiathlon and sixth place in the relay. In March 2017 he became champion over 50 km freestyle at the German cross-country skiing championships in Oberwiesenthal and third in the team sprint together with Thomas Hauber .

After 38th place in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Dobler took 23rd place in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 and 40th place at the World Cup final in Falun . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he came in 22nd place in the skiathlon and sixth place in the relay. In March 2018 he and Sebastian Eisenlauer finished second in the team sprint and second over 30 km classic at the German cross-country skiing championships in Reit im Winkl . In the 2018/19 season he finished 31st in the Lillehammer Triple, 26th in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and 35th in the World Cup finals in Québec , reaching 57th place in the overall World Cup and 38th place. Rank in the Distance World Cup. He achieved his first top ten placement in the individual World Cup in Lillehammer with the sixth fastest time in the pursuit. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he ran to 25th place in the skiathlon , 17th place in the 50 km mass start race and sixth place in the relay. At the end of March 2019 he became German champion in the mass start race over 30 km freestyle at the German cross-country skiing championships in Reit im Winkl.

Dobler has been part of the customs ski team as a customs officer since August 2012 .
