Ole Christian Wendel (born January 24, 1992 ) is a former Norwegian ski jumper , Nordic combined skier and cross-country skier .

After Wendel completed two B-World Cup competitions in 2007, he won the bronze medal in the team competition at the Junior World Championships in Zakopane on February 28, 2008. A year later he managed to win the gold medal in the team competition and the bronze medal in the Gundersen competition at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso . On March 6, 2009 he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup . He achieved 15 World Cup points in the last competitions of the 2008/09 season and thus the 60th place in the overall World Cup ranking. On January 10, 2010, with an eighth place in the Gundersen competition in Val di Fiemme, he made it into the top ten for the first time. At the 2010 Junior World Championship in Hinterzarten he was able to win the Gundersen title for the first time. He also won the silver medal behind the German team with the Norwegian team.

For the 2010 Winter Olympics he was officially part of the Norwegian squad, but could not be used in any competition due to illness and left early. At the age of only 19, Wendel ended his sports career at the end of the 2010/2011 season due to a lack of motivation, although he was at times considered "Norway's greatest talent".
