Andrew Musgrave (born March 6, 1990 in Poole , Dorset , England ) is a British cross-country skier .

Career

Musgrave made his first World Cup race in November 2008 in Kuusamo , which he finished with 78th place in the sprint. His best results at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Liberec in 2009 were 45th place in the 30 km pursuit race and 14th place in the relay. His best finish at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver was the 51th place in the 30-km pursuit race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo , he finished 28th in the sprint. He got his first World Cup points at the Tour de Ski 2011/12 , which he finished in 52nd place. At the Tour de Ski 2012/13 he also achieved this placement. In February 2013 he achieved his best World Cup result so far in the sprint in Sochi with 18th place. His best placement at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme was 28th place over 15 km freestyle. At the Tour de Ski 2013/14 he reached the 26th place. The 29th place in the sprint was his best result at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. In the 2014/15 season he reached 50th place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and 19th place at the Tour de Ski 2015 . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in 2015 , he finished 34th in the 50 km mass start race, 16th in the 15 km freestyle and 12th place in the skiathlon . After 16th place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he finished 40th at the Tour de Ski 2016 and 36th at the Ski Tour Canada . At the end of the season he came in 43rd place in the overall World Cup and 31st place in the Distance World Cup. In the 2016/17 season he finished 29th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer and 18th in the 2016/17 Tour de Ski . At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti he came in 12th place over 15 km classic, 11th place in the skiathlon and fourth place in the 50 km mass start race. At the end of the season he was ninth at the World Cup final in Québec . He ran the second fastest time in the final stage and finally reached 23rd place in the overall World Cup and 18th place in the Distance World Cup. After finishing 28th in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, he finished third in the 15 km freestyle in Toblach and came 15th in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 . His best placings at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 12th place with Andrew Young in the team sprint and seventh place in the skiathlon. At the end of the season he came in 29th place at the World Cup finals in Falun and reached 22nd place in the overall World Cup and 14th place in the Distance World Cup.

In the 2018/19 season, Musgrave finished 15th in the Lillehammer Triple and 17th in the 2018/19 Tour de Ski and in the World Cup finals in Québec, reaching 21st place in the overall World Cup and 18th place in the Distance World Cup . At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished eighth in the 50 km mass start race and over 15 km classic and seventh in the skiathlon.
