Fredrik Jonsson (born July 20, 1990 ) is a former Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Jonsson, who started for Hudiksvalls IF , ran his first races in the Scandinavian Cup in Keuruu in January 2009 and finished 48th in the sprint and 30th place over 15 km classic. His best placements at the Junior World Championships in 2009 were 12th in the sprint and eighth in the relay. In January 2010 he started in Otepää for the first time in the cross-country skiing world cup and came in 48th place over 15 km classic. At the Junior World Championships 2010 in Hinterzarten , he achieved 23rd place over 10 km classic and 11th place with the relay. In March 2010 he was in Hudiksvall Swedish junior champion over 10 km freestyle, skiathlon and sprint. In the 2010/11 season he got his first World Cup points in Lahti with 29th place in the skiathlon. At the 2011 World Cup finals in Falun , he came in 34th. With the 25th place in the sprint he achieved his best placement in the World Cup individual. At the U23 World Championships in 2011 in Otepää, he finished 34th in the 15 km freestyle, 18th in sprint and fifth in skiathlon. In 2011, 2012 and 2013 he was the Swedish champion with the Hudiksvalls IF relay. In the 2011/12 season he came in 77th place at the Nordic Opening in Kuusamo and 38th place in the Tour de Ski 2011/12 . At the U23 World Championships in Erzurum in 2012 , he took 40th place in the sprint, 34th place over 15 km classic and 26th place in skiathlon. He ran his last World Cup race in March 2013 in Lahti, which he finished classically in 47th place over 15 km.
