Alexander Wolz (born January 21, 1991 ) is a German cross-country skier . He starts for TSV Buchenberg .

Career

Wolz has been taking part in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2007 . Since 2009 he has mainly competed in the Alpine Cup . He ran his first World Cup race in December 2011 in Düsseldorf , which he finished in 63rd place in the sprint. In January 2013, he got his first World Cup points in Liberec with 22nd place in the sprint. A month later, he achieved 14th place in Davos, his best result to date in an individual World Cup race. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2013 in Val di Fiemme , he achieved 44th place in the sprint. At the German championships he finished third in the team sprint together with Jonas Dobler . In March 2013 he won the 42 km classic at Skadi Loppet . In the 2013/14 season he reached fifth place in the overall ranking of the Alpine Cup. In March 2014, he won his first race in the Alpine Cup in the sprint in Rogla and in the same month achieved second place in the team sprint at the German championships with Markus Weeger . In January 2015 he became German sprint champion . In December 2015, he finished second in the sprint at the Alpencup in Hochfilzen .
