Skadi Loppet

The Skadi Loppet is a ski marathon race in Bodenmais in the Bavarian Forest , which is part of the Euroloppet series and is held in classic technology over distances of 42 km and 24 km. The race is held annually in March. This makes the Skadi Loppet the season finale for many cross-country skiers in Central Europe. The location of the Bodenmaiser cross-country skiing area at 1,100 to 1,400 meters with guaranteed snow makes this late termination possible. In 2006 the Skadi Loppet recorded a record snow depth of 300 cm in the Bodenmaiser ski stadium on the Bretterschachten. The Skadi Loppet was first held on February 18, 1990. 180 athletes from eleven nations took part in the 33 km long circuit, which had to be completed twice.
