Finn Hågen Krogh (born September 6, 1990 in Alta ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Krogh performed in the junior division until 2010. At the 2009 Junior World Championships in Praz de Lys, he won bronze with the relay. A year later at the 2010 Junior World Championships in Hinterzarten , he won gold in the relay and bronze in the skiathlon . Over 10 km classic he just missed a medal. In the 2010/11 season he mainly took part in the Scandinavian Cup , which he finished in first place in the overall standings. Because of the good results he got his World Cup debut in Liberec . In the sprint, he finished 21st. At FIS Cross-Country World Cup Final 2010/11 , he was second, winning in skiathlon. At the start of the 2011/12 season , he won the relay race in Sjusjøen . Placements in midfield followed. He then took part in races of the Scandinavian Cup, which he finished with 11th place in the overall standings.

In the following season Krogh took part in the Tour de Ski . He was able to win the sprint competition and finished the tour in 18th place. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Val di Fiemme in 2013 , he competed in the 15 km freestyle race and finished 31st. He finished second in the World Cup finals in Stockholm and Falun . He finished the season in 10th place overall. At the Norwegian cross-country skiing championship in Gaasbu in 2013 , he won silver in the 15 km freestyle. In the 2013/14 season he ended the Tour de Ski prematurely. He was able to occupy several top ten positions during the season, including three times fifth place and thus the best result of the season. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he was in the Norwegian squad, but did not take part in any races. He finished 24th in the overall World Cup. At the Norwegian cross-country skiing championship in Molde in 2014 , he won bronze in the sprint.

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season , Krogh reached second place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer . He finished third in the sprint race and second in the 10 km freestyle. A third place and a victory in sprint races in Davos followed . At the World Cup race in Otepää , he and Anders Gløersen took second place in the team sprint. In February 2015 he won in Östersund in the sprint and over 15 km freestyle. At the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun , he and Petter Northug won gold in the team sprint. Over 15 km freestyle, he finished fifth. At the last sprint race of the season in Drammen he finished second and finished the season in fourth place in the overall World Cup and first place in the Sprint World Cup. After third place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka and second place with the relay in Lillehammer at the beginning of the 2015/16 season , he finished second at the 2016 Tour de Ski . He came third twice and won the 10 km freestyle in Toblach . In January 2016 he won the World Cup in Nové Město with the relay and was the Norwegian sprint champion in Tromsø . The following month he finished second in both the skiathlon and sprint at the Lahti World Cup . At the Ski Tour Canada he finished ninth and finished the season in fourth place in the Distance World Cup and third in the sprint and overall World Cup. At the beginning of the following season he was eighth in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer. This was followed by a second place in the sprint in Davos and victories in the 15 km mass start race and with the relay in La Clusaz . At the Tour de Ski 2016/17 , which he ended prematurely, he achieved third place in the sprint stage in Val Müstair . At the following World Cups he won the relay in Ulricehamn and finished second in the sprint in Otepää. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti, he won the bronze medal in the skiathlon and the gold medal with the relay. He was also fourth in the sprint. At the end of the season he came in 70th place at the World Cup final in Québec . He achieved second place in the sprint stage and reached 17th place in the Distance World Cup, tenth place in the overall World Cup and fourth place in the Sprint World Cup.

After 13th place in the Ruka Triple at the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Krogh finished in the top ten three times in the World Cup and thus reached 32nd place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he ran in 18th place in the 15 km freestyle. In the 2018/19 season he won the season in Beitostølen and took third place in the sprint in Lahti . In addition, he finished 20th in the Tour de Ski 2018/19 and finally reached 31st place in the overall World Cup and 13th place in the Sprint World Cup. At the beginning of February 2019 he became the Norwegian sprint champion in Meråker . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tirol , he finished 12th in the sprint. After finishing third in the relay at the World Cup in Lillehammer at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, he took his fourth victory in the Scandinavian Cup in Nes Skianlegg over 30 km freestyle in January 2020 and won the Norwegian championships over 15 km freestyle in Konnerud . At the ski tour 2020 he came 11th and took third place in Östersund over 15 km freestyle. He finished the season in 28th place in the overall World Cup.
