The Lauteraarhütte is a refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club in the Bernese Alps ( Switzerland ) and was built as a replacement for the Dollfus pavilion .

Location and operation

The hut is on the Unteraar Glacier at an altitude of 2392  m above sea level. M. , is operated by the Zofingen section of the Swiss Alpine Club and is manned from the end of June to mid-September.

history

The first hut, the Dollfuss pavilion , was built in 1844 by Daniel Dollfus-Ausset , who spent two winters on the Theodul Pass in 1865 to explore glaciers. The hut passed to the Oberhasli community , which left it to the SAC in 1873. In the summer of 1894 the hut was renovated and enlarged. A stone extension was built on the east side, which served as a bedroom with ten places.

The new, today's hut was inaugurated on the day of prayer in 1931 by around 280 mountain friends.
