Bernhard Tritscher (born April 25, 1988 in Zell am See , Pinzgau , Salzburg ) is a former Austrian cross-country skier . He started for SK Saalfelden.
Career
Tritscher attended the main ski school in Saalfelden , the Nordic training center in Eisenerz and learned the profession of electrical engineering technician. He started his sports career with Nordic combined . However, because Tritscher was unable to assert himself in this discipline, he switched to the specialty cross-country ski camp in 2007. From 2008 onwards there were regular appearances in the Alpine Cup . The Austrian celebrated his World Cup debut in March 2010 in Oslo with 54th place in the sprint competition. At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he got his first World Cup points with his second appearance in the World Cup in Düsseldorf with 14th place in the sprint. In the further course of the season he came in the points four times in World Cup sprints, including his first top ten result with tenth place in Rybinsk and 28th place in the sprint world cup at the end of the season. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Championships 2011 in Oslo, he finished 48th in the 50 km mass start race and 21st in the sprint. In April 2011 he became Austrian champion over 30 km and in summer 2011 champion in roller skis over 50 km. His best result of the season 2011/12 in the World Cup singles was the 24th place in the sprint in Davos . In the 2012/13 season he reached the points six times in the World Cup and reached 63rd place in the overall World Cup at the end of the season.
In February 2013 he won the Austrian Championships in Villach over 10 km and the subsequent pursuit. At the Nordic World Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme he finished 51st in the 15 km freestyle and seventh place together with Harald Wurm in the team sprint. In the following season he was Austrian champion over 30 km and with the relay. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he came 24th in the 50 km mass start race and seventh in the sprint. In the 2014/15 season he took 64th place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and 37th place at the 2015 Tour de Ski . In January 2015 he achieved his best season result in the World Cup with seventh place in the sprint in Rybinsk. The following month he finished 28th in the 50km mass start race, 12th in the team sprint and sixth in the 15km freestyle at the 2015 Nordic World Championships in Falun . At the Austrian Championships in 2015 he was champion over 30 km and in the roller ski over 9 km. He finished the season in 47th place in the overall World Cup and in 28th place in the Sprint World Cup. In August 2015 he was again Austrian champion in roller skis over 9 km and over 30 km. At the beginning of the 2015/16 season he achieved 43rd place at the Nordic Opening in Ruka . In the further course of the season he came in the World Cup 11 times in the points, including three times in the top ten. At the Austrian Championships in 2016 in Seefeld in Tirol , he won the sprint and over 30 km. At the end of the World Cup season he finished 28th in the Ski Tour Canada and reached 45th place in the overall World Cup and in the Distance World Cup and 31st place in the Sprint World Cup. At the beginning of the 2016/17 season he finished 46th in the Mini Tour in Lillehammer. At the Austrian Championships in 2017 he won the 50 km roller ski race. In addition, he was second in each case over 15 km and in the pursuit. At the Nordic World Championships in Lahti in 2017 , he took 45th place in the 50 km mass start race and 33rd place in the sprint. His best placings at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 39th place over 15 km freestyle and 13th place with the relay. In February 2019 he ran at the Nordic World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol to 46th place in the skiathlon and 30th place in the 50 km mass start race. He ended his active career on April 26, 2020.
