Dominik Baldauf (born April 23, 1992 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian cross-country skier .

Career

Dominik Baldauf attended the sports high school in Dornbirn . Baldauf achieved his first top 10 result in the Alpine Cup in March 2013 by finishing ninth in the 30 km freestyle mass start race in Campo Carlo Magno . He made his debut in the cross-country skiing world cup in December 2014 in the sprint in Davos , where he finished 33rd.

He won his first World Cup points as the 26th of the Rybinsk sprint in January 2015. Baldauf was part of the Austrian team at the 2015 World Championships in Falun and was 19th in the sprint and 45th in the 15 km freestyle. In March 2015 he became Austrian sprint champion . At the 2017 World Championships in Lahti , he took 18th place in the sprint and, together with Luis Stadlober, in the team sprint. The following year he was Austrian champion over 30 km and in the sprint. His best placings at the 2018 Winter Olympics in the South Korean city ​​of Pyeongchang were 35th place in the sprint and 13th place in the relay.

Doping ban 2019

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 took Baldauf together with his teammate Max Hauke in Team Sprint in Seefeld in Tirol on 24 February sixth.
