Monique Siegel (born January 1, 1989 in Annaberg-Buchholz ) is a former German cross-country skier . From 2008 she was part of the customs ski team .

Career

Siegel, which starts for the SC Norwegian in 1896 Annaberg, has been taking part in competitions of the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2004 . Since 2006 she has mainly competed in the Alpine Cup . They previously took eight wins and won in the season 2010/11 and 2012/13 the overall standings. Her first international success was in February 2007 at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Jaca . There she finished seventh over 5 km classic and won bronze over 7.5 km freestyle. The customs officer has been part of the customs ski team since August 2008 . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2009 , she won bronze with the relay. She ran her first World Cup race at the end of November 2009 in Beitostølen with the relay, which she finished in 17th place. A week later she reached the 61st place over 10 km classic in her first World Cup individual race in Kuusamo . In February 2010 she became German champion in the 10 km pursuit race. At the German Cross-Country Ski Championships in 2012 , she won silver in the skiathlon and gold in the team sprint together with Denise Herrmann . In the following year, 2013, she achieved silver over 5 km freestyle and gold in the skiathlon at the German cross-country skiing championships . At the German Cross-Country Ski Championships in 2014 , she won gold over 5 km classic and in the 10 km mass start race. She finished the Tour de Ski 2015 in 24th place overall. She got her first World Cup points. The following year she won at the Tour de Ski in 2016 to 28th place. At the German cross-country skiing championships in Oberwiesenthal in 2017 she was second in the 30 km freestyle and together with Julia Belger in the team sprint. At the beginning of March 2018 she won the main 50 km classic run and the 30 km freestyle run at Bieg Piastów .
