Mari Eide (born November 18, 1989 in Beitostølen ) is a Norwegian cross-country skier .

Career

Eide has been participating in competitions organized by the Fédération Internationale de Ski since 2007 . Since 2010 she has mainly competed in the Scandinavian Cup . She ran her first World Cup race in March 2010 in Oslo , which she finished with 45th place in the sprint. She got her first World Cup points in December 2010 in Düsseldorf with 24th place in the sprint. In December 2011 she won the team sprint in Düsseldorf together with Maiken Caspersen Falla . She achieved her best individual placement in the World Cup so far in January 2012 in Milan with sixth place in the sprint. In the 2013/14 season she finished in the top ten seven times in the Scandinavian Cup and finished seventh in the overall standings at the end of the season. After third place at the beginning of the 2015/16 season in the Scandinavian Cup over 10 km classic in Vuokatti , she reached the points five times in the World Cup, including two ninth places in sprints in Drammen and Lahti . In March 2016, she finished third in the classic 5 km Scandinavian Cup in Otepää and won her first Scandinavian Cup victory in the sprint. She finished the season in 26th place in the Sprint World Cup and fourth in the Scandinavian Cup. After finishing 40th in the World Cup mini-tour in Lillehammer at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she was twice in the top ten at sprint world cups and thus reached 19th place in the sprint world cup. At the Norwegian Championships in 2017, she was third with the relay. In March 2017 she won the Engadin Skimarathon . In the 2017/18 season came with nine places in the points, including 16th place in the Ruka Triple, 44th place in the overall World Cup.

In the following season she finished third in the team sprint with Maiken Caspersen Falla in Dresden and finished 27th at the World Cup finals in Québec and thus reached 50th place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight, the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld in Tyrol , she won the bronze medal in the sprint.
