Dietmar Nöckler (born September 29, 1988 in Bruneck ) is an Italian cross-country skier .

Career

From 2006 to 2011, Nöckler mainly took part in the Alpine Cross-Country Cup, which he won in 2010 . He ran his first World Cup race in February 2009 in Valdidentro , which he finished with 40th place in the sprint. In 2011 he won the Toblach – Cortina classic over 42 km. He scored his first World Cup points in the 2011/12 season . He finished the Tour de Ski 2011/12 in 48th place. In the Tour de Ski 2012/13 he reached 31st place. His best individual World Cup race so far ran in the 2012/13 season in Lahti with sixth place over 15 km classic. He finished the 2012/13 season in 40th place in the overall World Cup ranking. His best placings at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme were 18th place in the 50 km mass start race and fourth place with the relay. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he reached 11th place in the team sprint and fifth place in the relay. At the Italian cross-country skiing championship in 2014, he took second place over 50 km freestyle and first place over 15 km classic.

In the 2014/15 season Nöckler took 44th place at the Nordic Opening in Lillehammer and 21st place at the 2015 Tour de Ski . In January 2015 in Otepää he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with third place in the team sprint together with Federico Pellegrino . The following month he was able to repeat this placement in the team sprint at the 2015 Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun . At the Rollerski World Championships 2015 in Val di Fiemme , he won the silver medal in the team sprint together with Federico Pellegrino. After finishing 28th at the Nordic Opening in Ruka at the beginning of the 2015/16 season, he took third place with the relay in Nové Město in January 2016 and won the team sprint in Planica together with Federico Pellegrino. At the end of the season, he achieved 23rd place in the Ski Tour Canada and 70th place in the overall World Cup. At the beginning of the following season he finished 37th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer. In January 2017 he won the Alpine Cup in Planica classic over 15 km and he finished third in the team sprint at the World Cup in Toblach together with Federico Pellegrino. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , he won the silver medal in the team sprint together with Federico Pellegrino. He also achieved 24th place over 15 km classic and eighth place with the relay. At the end of the season he came in 13th place at the World Cup finals in Québec and reached 60th place in the overall World Cup and 47th place in the Distance World Cup. In the 2017/18 season he took 53rd place in the Ruka Triple and 46th place in the World Cup final in Falun. In January 2018 he won his second World Cup victory together with Federico Pellegrino in a team sprint in Dresden . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang he ran to 37th place in the skiathlon , 21st place in the 50 km mass start race and fifth place together with Federico Pellegrino in the team sprint.
