Anna Margret Jönsson Hague (* 1. June 1986 in Köping as Anna Margret Hansson ) is a Swedish cross-country skier .

Career

Haag first competed in an international junior race in 2003. Then she started for a few years in the Scandinavian Cup , in FIS races and in the junior division, until she finally got her first appearance in the cross-country skiing world cup in November 2006 in Gällivare, Sweden . With the exception of another World Cup race in Falun , she only competed in FIS races or in the Scandinavian Cup in the further course of the 2006/07 season. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season she was able to occupy 24th place at the World Cup in Beitostølen and thus establish herself in the Swedish World Cup team. During the season she was mostly able to make it into the top 30 and also achieve results in the top ten several times. At the end of the season, she finished 19th overall.

At the opening race of the 2008/09 season in Gällivare she finished 15th, with the Swedish team she celebrated her first podium places in the first two relay races of the season with a second and a third place. At the beginning of 2009, she took part in the Tour de Ski , which she finished ninth, otherwise she only competed in a few World Cups of the season. At the Swedish Championships in Sundvall , she won silver in the 10 kilometer freestyle. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in 2009 she was able to win the bronze medal with the relay.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season she won a World Cup race with the relay for the first time at the World Cups in Beitostølen and was able to achieve her first individual podium with third place over 10 kilometers freestyle. In the further course of the season she took part in only a few World Cups, but was always able to occupy a place in the top ten. At the 15 km race in the classic technique in Rogla , Slovenia , another podium was added with a third place. At the end of January 2010 in Piteå held Swedish Championships, she secured the title in the double pursuit and was second over 10 kilometers freestyle. In February she took part in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver . After finishing fourth in the 10 kilometer individual race, she was able to win the silver medal in the double pursuit. Three days later, she and Charlotte Kalla won silver again in the team sprint.

The 2010/11 World Cup season started Haag after a weak individual World Cup in Gällivare with a second place with the relay on the same route. In La Clusaz she achieved another good result with the relay and ended up in third place with the team. At the Swedish Championships in 2011 in Sundsvall , she achieved after silver in the pursuit, ninth place in the sprint, the championship title over 10 km in classic style. Exactly four weeks later, together with Ida Ingemarsdotter , Britta Johansson Norgren and Charlotte Kalla, she won the silver medal in the relay race at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo . In the individual disciplines she did not win any medals, but she remained in the top 20 in all disciplines and achieved two top 10 placements. At the 2010/11 cross-country skiing World Cup finals she was in seventh place after good individual performances. At the Swedish Championships 2011 in Bruksvallarna , she did not start despite the news.

In the 2011/12 World Cup season , Haag had no way of keeping up with the world's best. The best result was an eighth place in Kuusamo at the beginning of the season and a fourth place with the relay in Nové Město na Moravě shortly before the end of the season. As a result, she often ended up just outside the points. Also at the Swedish Championships in Östersund in 2012 she did not win a medal, over 10 km she was fourth just behind the medal ranks.

In the following season 2012/13 she started promisingly with a fifth and a ninth place at FIS races in Bruksvallarna . However, in the first World Cup race in Gällivare , she suffered another setback in 56th place. In Canmore, however, she showed strength again and ended up in 10th place in the skiathlon over 15 km. She finished the Tour de Ski 2012/2013 in 18th place overall. After another fourth place with the relay in La Clusaz, Haag started at the Swedish Championships in Falun in 2013 and surprisingly won bronze in the sprint and over 10 km as well as silver in the skiathlon. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme , Haag won the silver medal with the relay. She finished sixth in the individual over 30 km. In the skiathlon, she was 15th and over 10 km 17th. She also reached 17th place a short time later at the 2012/13 cross-country skiing World Cup finals in Stockholm and Falun.

In the 2016/17 season she finished 13th in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer and in the World Cup final in Québec , making it 26th in the overall World Cup and 19th in the Distance World Cup. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , she won the silver medal with the relay. She also took 18th place in the skiathlon, ninth place in the 30 km mass start race and fifth place over 10 km classic. At the end of March 2017 she won the Storlirennet over 36 km freestyle. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season she finished 17th in the Ruka Triple and 12th in the Tour de Ski 2017/18 . At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , she won the silver medal with the relay. At the end of the season she came in 41st place and 24th place in the overall World Cup at the World Cup finals in Falun.

At the beginning of her career she started as Anna Hansson, in May 2008 she took the surname of her mother, Haag. She has been married to the Swedish cross-country skier Emil Jönsson since 2018 .
