Gates Milsett

Tore Milsett (born April 23, 1944 in Lørenskog ) is a former Norwegian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 1962 Tore Milsett was two-time Norwegian junior champion, in the individual and team time trial . In 1967, 1968 and 1974 he became Norwegian road racing champion . He started twice in the International Peace Tour , in 1968 he finished 25th, and in 1972 he finished 48th in the overall ranking. At the UCI Road World Championships in 1966 on the Nürburgring , he finished 13th in the amateur road race .

In 1968 Milsett started at the Olympic Games in Mexico , finished 14th in the road race and fifth in the team time trial (with Jan Erik Gustavsen and the brothers Thorleif and Ørnulf Andresen ). Four years later, at the Games in Munich , he was 17th in the street race. The Kongepokal (King's Cup), which is awarded for the best athletic performance at Norwegian championships, was awarded to Milsett in 1967.
