Lars Petter Nordhaug (born May 14, 1984 in Lillehammer ) is a former Norwegian cyclist .

Career

Lars Petter Nordhaug won the silver medal at the 2001 Mountain Bike World Championships in the United States as runner-up in the junior cross-country race. From 2005 to 2009 he rode for the Norwegian road cycling team Interspons Bianchi . In his first year he finished fifth at the Ringerike Grand Prix . In 2006 he won the national championship title in road racing. At the road cycling world championships in Salzburg , he started in the road race of the U23 class, in which he was 75th.

From 2010 Nordhaug was under contract with the British ProTeam Sky . In the 2011 season, his best results were fifth in the national championships and sixth in the Coppa Sabatini . His expiring contract was extended at the end of 2011 up to and including 2012. This year he celebrated probably the biggest success of his career by winning the the UCI World Tour belonging Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal . After the 2012 season he left Team Sky ProCycling to return to Sky after two years with Team Belkin for the 2015 season, with which he stayed for two years. After a season with the Aqua Blue Sport team , he ended his active career at the end of the 2017 season.
