Sven Erik Bystrøm (born January 21, 1992 in Haugesund ) is a Norwegian cyclist .

Career

Sven Erik Bystrøm won the Grenland Grand Prix and a stage in Norway in 2009 . In Germany he won a stage of the Rothaus Regio Tour in the Black Forest . In 2012 he won in Frankfurt am Main in the U23 class around the financial center Eschborn-Frankfurt .

At the 2014 World Championships in Ponferrada / Spain , the gold medal in the U23 road race followed. At the end of this year he drove as a stagiaire for Katusha . There he signed his professional contract.

In 2015, Bystrøm won the junior competition at the Circuit Cycliste Sarthe in France . In 2016 he did his first three-week tour of the country, the Tour of Spain , which he finished in 141st place. In addition, Bystrøm was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , but did not finish the road race.

He finished second on the 18th stage in Lleida of the Vuelta a España 2018 , where he lost as an outlier in the sprint to his fellow escape member Jelle Wallays from Belgium .
