Thorleif Andresen

Thorleif Andresen (born February 14, 1945 in Akershus Province , Enebakk municipality , Norway ) is a former Norwegian cyclist .

Thorleif Andresen started cycling at the age of 17, a year later than his older brother Ørnulf . As a multiple Olympian as well as a successful participant in national championships and important amateur rides , he received offers to switch to the professional camp, but always decided against this step. Participant in the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City , where he was 13th in the road race and fifth in the team time trial with the four- team . In 1972 in Munich, the Norwegian foursome was again fifth , Andresen finished in 70th place in the individual race . At the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal , he finished 38th in the individual race.

The Kongepokal (King's Cup), which is awarded for the best sporting performance at Norwegian championships, was awarded to Andresen in 1964, 1969 and 1971. At the UCI road world championships in 1966 on the Nürburgring , he took 38th place in the amateurs road race .

After his active time as a cyclist, Andresen worked as a national coach for the Norwegian team.
