Per Eric Svartvadet (born May 17, 1975 in Sollefteå ) is a former Swedish ice hockey player and current official who has worked in various positions at MODO Hockey in the Svenska Hockeyligan since 2012 . He also spent a large part of his active career at MODO and acted as its team captain for a total of eight years .

Career

At the beginning of his career, Svartvadet was initially on the ice for his hometown club Sollefteå HK in Division 1 , before moving to the U20 youth team of MODO Hockey for the 1991/92 season. In the 1993/94 season he ran for the first time for the professional team in the Elitserien and was then able to establish himself as a regular player. At the 1997 World Cup , Svartvadet reached the final with the Swedish national team , but where they lost to Canada and consequently won the silver medal.

After the Swede was selected by the Dallas Stars in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft , he moved to North America in the summer of 1999 and signed a contract with the Atlanta Thrashers , which had previously secured the transfer rights as a result of an exchange deal with Dallas. In the following season 1999/2000 Svartvadet played a total of 38 games for the Thrashers in the National Hockey League and spent the rest of the season with the farm team Orlando Solar Bears in the International Hockey League . In the following year , the center was able to convince with solid offensive statistics and played a total of 69 games in the top division of North America. In the following two seasons he was an integral part of the NHL squad, but recorded only eight scorer points from 62 games in the 2002/03 season and then received no new contract.

Then came Svartvadet in summer 2003 to his former club MODO Hockey, where he from the 2003/04 season as captain acted the team. In the 2006/07 season , the attacker had the season with the highest points of his career and scored a total of 35 points. In the play-offs, with eight goals and ten assists, he played a key role in winning his team's Swedish championship . With 18 scorer points, he was the most attacking player in the play-offs and was awarded the gold puck as the best Swedish player in the Elitserien after the season . In December 2011 Svartvadet ended his active professional career due to ongoing injury problems and switched to the management of MODO Hockey for the 2012/13 season , where he was initially responsible for player development until 2014. The Swede has been the club's sports director since the 2014/15 season .

His jersey number # 39 is blocked by both MODO Hockey and his youth club Sollefteå HK.
