Jamie Storr (born December 28, 1975 in Brampton , Ontario ) is a former Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper .

Career

Jamie Storr was drawn seventh in the first round by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1994 NHL Entry Draft . He played the 1994/95 season mainly in the lower class OHL , but came in January 1995 for his first use in the NHL , followed by four more in the same year. In the next two seasons, the goalkeeper was on the ice in the IHL with the Phoenix Roadrunners , of which he was number 1, and with the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL , where he made a total of ten appearances. In the 1997/98 season Jamie Storr remained, with small exceptions, continuously in the NHL squad and guarded the goal of the Kings 17 times. In the following season, the Canadian came to 28 games before he was used in more than half of the games in the 1999/00 season . However, Storr could not finally prevail against number one Stéphane Fiset . It was only when Fiset suffered a knee injury twice in the 2000/01 season that Storr could become a regular goalkeeper. At the beginning of the next season, Félix Potvin was able to prevail as the regular goalkeeper, so that Jamie Storr had to act as back-up again.

At the beginning of the 2003/04 season, Storr's path led to the Russian ice hockey league at Avangard Omsk , but he never played there and signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes from the NHL a month later . But here the goalie could not assert himself permanently and only played 14 times. After the season, his contract was not renewed. In May 2004, Jamie Storr gave Adler Mannheim from the German Ice Hockey League the promise to move to Germany. However, he did not sign a contract with the Eagles, but after some time moved to the Springfield Falcons in the AHL . During the season, the Canadian signed a contract with league rivals Utah Grizzlies . The 2005/06 season completed Storr also in the American Hockey League, this time as the second goalkeeper of the Philadelphia Phantoms .

Jamie Storr has been playing in the DEL for the DEG Metro Stars since the 2006/2007 season , where he initially signed a contract for one year. After a short period of acclimatization, the goalkeeper became a crowd favorite among the Rhinelanders because of his sometimes spectacular parades, especially with the catching hand. In December 2006, Storr's contract was extended to 2009. In February 2007, the Canadian was elected goalkeeper for the 2006/07 season by coaches, managers, experts and specialist journalists in Germany.

On May 13, 2009, the DEG Metro Stars announced that Jamie Storr had ended his professional career for personal reasons.

On January 31, 2010, the DEG Metro Stars signed Jamie Storr as a standby goalie. He should be used in the event that both DEG Metro Stars goalkeepers, Jean-Sébastien Aubin and Etienne Renkewitz , were injured.
