Nikola Senzel (born September 2, 1992 ) is a Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with KHL Medveščak Zagreb since 2009 and has played with the club in the International Hockey League since 2017 .

Career

Nikola Senzel began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the KHL Zagreb , where he made his debut in the Croatian ice hockey league at the age of 15 . In 2008 he moved to HC Oceláři Třinec in the Czech U18 league. After only one season, he left the city in the east of the Czech Republic and returned to Zagreb , where he has since been on the ice with the Croatian record champions KHL Medveščak Zagreb . In addition to his appearances in the second men's team, with which he played in the Croatian league and became Croatian champions in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 , he was also in the Slovenian for the club's first team dominated Slohokej league and active with the youth team in the Austrian U20 league. He also played for the Zagreb team , a syndicate of the three large Zagreb clubs Medveščak, Mladost and KHL, at times in both the Slohokej League and the Slovenian U20 league. Since 2017 he has been playing with his team in the International Hockey League . During the 2018/19 season he also played a few games for the club in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga .

International

For Croatia , Senzel took part in the division II tournaments of the U18 World Cup in 2008 and the U-20 World Cup in 2008 and 2009 as well as in the Division I tournaments of the U20 World Cup in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 .

In the men's field, he was in his country's squad at the tournaments of Division II of the World Championships in 2011 and 2013 , when he and his team were promoted to Division I. At the World Championships in 2014 and 2018 he played with Croatia in Division I. In addition, he took part in the qualifying tournaments for the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 and in Pyeongchang in 2018 .
