For their farm team Abbotsford Heat , he completed 43 games in the American Hockey League in the 2009/10 season , scoring two goals and four assists.

As part of a larger transfer business, he was given to the Toronto Maple Leafs on January 31, 2010 together with Dion Phaneuf and Fredrik Sjöström in exchange for Niklas Hagman , Jamal Mayers , Matt Stajan and Ian White from Calgary , for whose AHL farm team Toronto Marlies he was only played until the end of the season. Due to a lack of prospects in North America, Aulie decided to move to Europe in January 2016 and hired at HIFK Helsinki from the Finnish Liiga .
