Andrew Scott Bodnarchuk (born July 11, 1988 in Drumheller , Alberta ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Red Bull Munich in the German Ice Hockey League since June 2018 .
Career
Bodnarchuk played in his youth for the Halifax Mooseheads in the Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec (LHJMQ), after winning the bronze medal in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge with Team Canada Atlantic in 2005 . After his first season in Halifax, where he was elected to the All-Rookie team LHJMQ who elected him Boston Bruins in the NHL Entry Draft in 2006 at the 128th position and put him in the episode for the first time in the playoffs the season 2006/07 join the Providence Bruins , their farm team from the American Hockey League (AHL). After the 2007/08 season, in which he had led the Mooseheads as team captain, Bodnarchuk moved permanently to the squad of the Providence Bruins, for which he was active until 2012. During this period, in the 2009/10 season, he also made his debut with the Boston Bruins in the National Hockey League (NHL) and came there on five missions.
As a free agent , he signed a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings in July 2012 , which was extended for two more seasons after it expired. However, the defender was only used for the Kings AHL farm team, the Manchester Monarchs , and won the Calder Cup with them in 2015 . In the summer of 2015 he joined the Columbus Blue Jackets , also as a free agent, where he was able to establish himself for the first time in the NHL squad and there came 16 missions. However, when he was to be sent back to the AHL via the waiver in January 2016 , the Colorado Avalanche signed him , where he played 21 games by the end of the season. Despite this, Colorado did not renew his expiring contract, so he signed a new two-year contract with the Dallas Stars in July 2016 .
In June 2018 he moved to the German champions EHC Red Bull Munich .
