After five years with the penguins , he started playing for ERC Ingolstadt in the 2012/13 season , with whom he won the German championship title in the 2013/14 season and the runner-up title in the 2014/15 season . In November 2014, he signed a three-year contract with the Kölner Haien , which was valid from the 2015/2016 season. He followed his former Ingolstadt master trainer Niklas Sundblad to the Rhine. After Hager was suspended by the sharks during the 2017 DEL playoffs, he switched to the current champions EHC Red Bull Munich , with whom he was able to win his second championship in 2018.
