The big favorite of Group 3 was the organizer Uruguay. First, however, the two group opponents Romania and Peru competed against each other. Just 300 people saw the sure 3: 1 success of the Europeans. After Peru had also lost to Uruguay, Romania and Uruguay played the final for first place in front of 80,000 visitors. Here the Uruguay team showed their skills. Dorado (7th), Scarone (24th), Anselmo (30th) and Cea (35th) showed the Romanians in the first half how modern football is played. After half an hour the final 4-0 result was already certain, so that Romania was eliminated from the tournament as second in the group.
