Brazil - Bolivia 4: 0 (1: 0)

After the narrow 1: 2 defeat against Yugoslavia in the opening game and the 4: 0 victory of the Europeans against Bolivia , Brazil was already eliminated, as only the first of the group qualified for the semi-finals. The clear win against the weakest team in the group was therefore meaningless.

Trivia

João Coelho Netto, known as Preguinho , scored Brazil’s first ever World Cup goal against Yugoslavia. He also scored twice in the very first World Cup victory against Bolivia. The first goal conceded by Brazil was scored by Aleksandar Tirnanić , which Joel conceded.
