Abraham Patusca da Silveira (born July 17, 1905 in Santos ; † January 24, 1990 ibid), better known as Araken Patusca or Araken for short , was a Brazilian football player .

Life

The striker Araken was active as a football player from 1923 to 1939. He began his career in 1923 at FC Santos where his father Sizino Patusca was president. With Santos he was three times runner-up in the Campeonato Paulista and one time champion with São Paulo FC . He was also the top scorer in the state championship in 1927 with 31 goals. After his return to Santos in 1935, he was also champion with this club in the same year. That was also the first title of the club, which less than three decades later would dominate the world. This time he stayed with Santos until 1937.

Between 1937 and 1938 he played in São Paulo with the short-lived CA Estudantes Paulista . He ended his career with Santos in 1939. In total, he scored 177 goals in 193 games for the club.

In January 1929 Araken played with the Brazilian national team in Rio de Janeiro against the Argentinian team Club Sportivo Barracas from Buenos Aires. At the World Cup in 1930 he played his only international match, while Brazil lost 2-1 at its World Cup premiere against Yugoslavia , which contributed to the elimination in the preliminary round. He died in 1990 at the age of 84.
