Split training

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Split training refers to a form of training in weight training or bodybuilding . After a growth stimulus through training , muscle parts need a rest phase. In order to make the best possible use of this property of muscle building, some athletes limit their training to certain muscle groups on a training day so that the muscle groups from the previous day can largely regenerate on the training day. In contrast to full-body training, shorter training intervals are possible, e.g. B. 3, 4 or 5 splits per week. Split training is based on a special form of periodization of athletic training , as it is a rhythmic increase in the load.
