Games

After winning the Olympic Games in 1924 and 1928, Uruguay was the favorite for the World Cup alongside Argentina. After a tough start, they survived the preliminary round without any problems before outclassing the last European representative 6-1 in the semifinals. In the final of the two great football powers at the time, Uruguay retained the upper hand 4-2 and became the first football world champion in history.
