Ernesto Mascheroni (born November 21, 1907 in Montevideo , † July 3, 1984 ibid) was a Uruguayan - Italian football player .

Club career

He played for Bella Vista in Uruguay in 1927 . In 1931 he was again in the Primera División for Olimpia Montevideo on the pitch and moved to Peñarol in 1932 . He stayed there until 1934 when he moved to Italy. There he joined AS Ambrosiana , today's Inter Milan . In 1936 he returned to Uruguay and was again part of the Peñarol team until 1940 , with whom he was a total of three Uruguayan national champions (1932, 1937 and 1938).

National team

The defender was a member of the Uruguayan national soccer team . From his debut on July 21, 1930 to his last appearance on February 12, 1939, he completed 13 international matches (no goal) for the national team of his home country called Celeste . A goal was not granted to him. At the Football World Cup in 1930 he was a member of the Uruguayan squad and won the world championship title when this tournament was held for the first time. Together with Pablo Dorado , he was the youngest player in the Uruguayan team. He also took part in the South American Championships in 1929 and 1939 .

He was also used in two international matches for the Italian national team in 1935 and won the European National Team Cup with Italy from 1933 to 1935 .
