Miguel Ángel Melogno (born March 22, 1905 in Salto , † March 27, 1945 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan football player .

Club career

Melogno played in his homeland as early as 1921 and at least from 1928 to 1929 for Bella Vista . More precise data in this regard are - currently - not available. Melogno came into action in the first officially completed encounter in the Divisional Extra at the Estadio Belvedere against Racing on April 17, 1921, which his team decided 3-1 in his favor. Melogno and his teammates became champions of this division that year and rose to the Divisional Intermedia .

National team

The midfielder was a member of the Uruguayan national soccer team , with which he secured the world championship title at the soccer World Cup in 1930 when this event was held for the first time. In the course of the tournament, however, he was not used as well as two years earlier. There he was able to book the gold medal win with the Uruguayan selection at the Summer Olympics in 1928 in his success statistics.
