¹ The very first expulsion in World Cup history - and the only one at this event - was the Peruvian captain Plácido Galindo in the 70th minute in the game against Romania, after which the coach Francisco Bru made Antonio Maquilón captain in the next game against Uruguay.

The big favorite of Group 3 was the organizer Uruguay. First, however, the two group opponents Romania and Peru competed against each other. Just 300 people saw the 3-1 defeat of the South Americans without a chance. However, 70,000 Urus came to their team's game against Peru. The arduous 1-0 victory was secured by a goal from half right Castro in the 61st minute. Peru was last in the group and was eliminated from the tournament with two defeats and one goal.
