Julio Lores

Julio Lores (born September 15, 1908 ; † unknown) was a native Peruvian and later naturalized Mexican football player on the position of a striker .

Life

Lores played both games of the Peruvian national team at the 1930 World Cup against Romania (1: 3) and the host and eventual world champion Uruguay (0: 1).

Lores played for years for the Mexican club Necaxa , where he was under contract at least between 1930 and 1938. In the ranks of Necaxa, Lores was twice the top scorer in the Mexican League (1931/32 and 1932/33) and four times Mexican champion (1933, 1935, 1937 and 1938).

After receiving the Mexican citizenship , Lores completed seven international matches for the Mexican national team between 1935 and 1938 , in which he scored a total of seven goals and won the Central American Championships in 1935 , Mexico's first national team title. He also played in the game against Venezuela (1-0) when he defended his title three years later.

The Estadio Julio Lores Colán in Huaral , which opened in 1952 and where the football club Unión Huaral plays its home games , is named after him .
