history

From the initiative of some football enthusiasts, the idea of founding a football club arose in 1947. On September 20, 1947, the foundation stone was finally laid and Don Nicolás was elected the club's first president. It was decided to take over the club colors of Club Atlético Chalaco . The reason was that many fans of the new club sympathized with the Chalaco club, which was around 50 years older . Unión Huaral quickly became popular in its home region and rivalries arose with Deportivo Huando and FBC White Star . The club presented itself from then on in the Copa Perú . 1974 you could win the regional championship Lima / North . The club was thus entitled to get out of the Primera División . In 1975 the team was first qualified for the Copa Libertadores . In group five you met the Peruvian team Universitario de Deportes and the teams of Peñarol Montevideo and Montevideo Wanderers FC from Uruguay . With zero wins and three draws, Unión Huaral was eliminated after six games. In 1976 the club won the national championship for the first time. So she qualified again for the Copa Libertadores. Against the Peruvian league competitor Sport Boys there was on the 1st match day of the Copa, on April 6, 1977 also the first international victory. Another victory against the Venezuelan representative Estudiantes de Mérida as well as two draws brought second place behind Portuguesa Fútbol Club (Venezuela), which was tantamount to the elimination. Unión Huaral had to wait until 1989 for the next league title. It is the last title win so far. This enabled the club to participate again in the Copa Libertadores in 1990, where they moved into the round of the last 16 teams as third in group 3. After a 1-0 first leg win over CS Emelec (Ecuador), the team drew the shorter one after a 2-0 defeat in the second leg and was eliminated. In 1991 the club had to relegate. Until 1995 the club shuttled between the first and second division. There were increases in 1992 and 1994, and decreases in the years in between. By 2002 one sank into insignificance. It was only when Pedrito Ruiz took over as coach that they played first class again from 2003. With fifty points from Apertura and Clausura, it was enough for sixth place in the first year after promotion. This success was repeated the following year. In 2005 they only achieved eight wins from 48 games. It was only enough for last place. Nevertheless, the club did not have to relegate. But the situation did not improve in the following year and the move to the second division was necessary. There was no success there. With nine points from twenty games they just missed the next relegation. Nevertheless, it was decided to want to relegate. From 2008 the club was third class. In 2013 Unión Huaral rose again to the second division.
