São Cristóvão de Futebol e Regatas is a Brazilian football club from the São Cristóvão district of Rio de Janeiro in the state of the same name .
history
Today's association emerged from the merger of the Clube de Ragatas São Cristóvão (founded in 1898) with the São Cristóvão Atlético Clube (founded in 1909) on February 13, 1943 . The latter had won in 1926 under the later national coach Luís Vinhaes the then championship of the federal district of Rio de Janeiro , today's national championship. In a final he had triumphed 5-1 over the CR Flamengo . However, that of the rowing club has been set as the official founding date.
In 2000 the club took part in the then edition of the Série A ( Copa João Havelange ) of the national football championship .
