Samuel Zauber (* 1908 or 1909 ; † June 10, 1986 in Jerusalem , Israel ) was a Romanian football player in the position of goalkeeper .

Career

Zauber began his career with the Maccabi Bucharest Jewish Association . In 1925 he moved for a season to Isvorul Sportul Bucharest , who was defeated in the relegation games for promotion to the Bucharest district championship Prahova Ploiesti and continued to remain second class. From 1928 Zauber played again for Maccabi Bucharest. The most successful year of his club career was 1935: in April Maccabi Bucharest won the soccer competition at the second Maccabiade in Tel Aviv and in July only narrowly failed as group winner of Divizia B in the promotion games to Divizia A 1935/36 . At the age of 55, Zauber settled in Israel in 1964 , where he died in 1986.

National team

Magic was nominated for the 1930 World Cup in Uruguay . There he was not used and only filled the role of substitute goalkeeper. In total, Zauber completed three international matches for Romania in 1931. He made his debut on June 28, 1931 against Yugoslavia . He was part of the victorious Romanian team at the Balkan Cup 1929–31 . There he was used in the return matches against Yugoslavia and Greece.
