Hans-Jürgen Monday
Hans-Jürgen Montag (* 1941 ; † September 25, 1997 in Munich ) was a German sports physiotherapist .
Monday began after his training as a physiotherapist at TSV 1860 Munich . From 1970 to 1982 he held this position with the German men's national hockey team and accompanied the Olympic Games and World and European Championships five times . Hermann Rieger was trained by him during this time . In 1984 the new team boss Franz Beckenbauer brought him to the German national football team . He remained their physiotherapist until his early death in 1997 after a brief, serious illness.
Montag recently worked closely with Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt , the national soccer team's doctor, and from 1995 had a practice at the Oberhaching sports school . He also wrote several specialist books on the subject of physiotherapy and medical rehabilitation , all of which achieved several editions.
Montag was married with three children.
