Dragoș Vodă Cernăuți was a Romanian sports club from Chernivtsi ( Rum. Cernăuți) at a time when this city belonged to Romania .

history

The club was founded at the end of 1909 (according to various sources as early as 1907 or 1908) as the Romanian football club Chernivtsi , when this city was still part of Austria-Hungary . In 1919 (according to various sources as early as 1918) the name was changed to Dragoș Vodă Cernăuți , based on Dragoș , the legendary founder of the Principality of Moldova in 1352.

After the recapture of Bukovina by Romania, the Dragoș Vodă football team qualified for the round of 16 of the Romanian Cup competition in the 1942/43 season and also took part in the 1943/44 Heroes' Cup ( Romanian Cupa Eroilor ), the replacement championship for second division teams.
