Corneliu Robe (born May 23, 1908 in Bucharest , † January 4, 1969 there ) was a Romanian football player . He came to 40 missions in the top Romanian league, Divizia A , and took part in the 1930 World Cup.

Career

Corneliu Robe began playing football in his hometown of Bucharest, initially with Colțea , later he moved to Olympia Bucharest . There he moved up to the first team in 1929. However, Olympia could not prevail against the competition from Juventus and Venus , so that Robe was denied participation in the final round of the Romanian football championship .

When Olympia was not one of the founding members of the Romanian professional league Divizia A in 1932 , he moved to local rivals Unirea Tricolor , where he had his first assignment on September 4, 1932. Robe was never a regular for the four years he was with Unirea Tricolor. In 1936 he left the club and moved to Sportul Studențesc in Divizia B , where his career came to an end in 1937.

National team

Robe made 14 appearances for the Romanian national soccer team but did not score a goal. He made his debut on July 21, 1930 as part of the Soccer World Cup in Uruguay in the 4-0 defeat against the hosts .
