Career
Frank Mauer began his career with the young eagles Mannheim in the German youth league and won the German youth championship three times with the team. After he scored 48 there in the 2005/06 season and had been prepared for 44, he received a production license from Adler Mannheim for the 2006/07 season and initially played mainly in the 2nd Bundesliga for their farm team , the Heilbronner Falken . On February 26, 2008, Mauer made his debut for the professional team of Adler Mannheim in the DEL. Since the 2008/09 season he was part of the Adler's regular squad. In the 2014/15 season he won the German championship with the Adler .
At the end of April 2015, the EHC Red Bull Munich signed the wall. He won the German championship title again with the Red Bulls in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He is one of only two players in DEL history who have been able to become champions four times in a row.
International
For the German U18 national team, the right-handed shooter completed all six games at the Junior World Cup in 2006 , but failed to score a point. Two years later he took part in the World Cup of Division I with the U20 national team and, as top scorer and top scorer (together with the Austrian Michael Raffl ), made a significant contribution to the promotion to the top division.
Frank Mauer made his first appearance in the men's national team at the 2010 Germany Cup in Munich, where he managed to assist in three games. Mauer scored his first international goal in the men's national team in the friendly against Belarus on February 9, 2011 in Frankfurt am Main, which was won 3-1 in the end. His first appearance at a (men's) world championship was at the 2011 world championship against Slovakia , where he was able to book an assist and which the national team won 4: 3. Also in 2013 and 2014 he was in the German squad at the World Cup. The striker celebrated his greatest success by winning the silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , for which he - like the entire German ice hockey team - received the silver laurel leaf.
