Niklas Hagman (born December 5, 1979 in Espoo ) is a former Finnish ice hockey player who played 800 games for the Florida Panthers , Dallas Stars , Toronto Maple Leafs , Calgary Flames and Anaheim Ducks in the course of his active career between 1995 and 2017 National Hockey League on the position of the left winger . Hagman celebrated numerous medals, including a silver and a bronze medal at the Winter Olympics, in particular in the jersey of the Finnish national team . His father Matti was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Niklas Hagman comes from the offspring of Helsingfors IFK , for whom he played in the junior SM-liiga from 1995. In the 1997/98 season he made his debut in the SM-liiga and scored his first goal as a professional. In the following season he went on the ice for both the HIFK and the Espoo Blues . Then he moved to Oulun Kärpät in the Mestis and was able to achieve promotion to the SM-liiga with Oulu.
Hagman was drafted in the same year in the NHL Entry Draft 1999 by the Florida Panthers in the third round as 70th, in which he completed a total of 233 games. He scored 28 goals and prepared another 46. In the 2004/05 strike season , Hagman played for HC Davos , where he had a large share in winning the Swiss Championship. He then moved to the Dallas Stars , where he was under contract until 2008. In the summer of 2008 he joined the Toronto Maple Leafs , where he was under contract until the end of January 2010 before he was sent to the Calgary Flames in a transfer deal .
In November 2011, the Calgary Flames put him on the waiver list , from which the Anaheim Ducks selected the Finnish striker. In July 2012, after ten years in the National Hockey League, he moved to the Continental Hockey League and signed a contract with Lokomotive Yaroslavl .
In the 2013/14 season he was initially under contract with Ässät Pori in the SM-liiga, before moving to the National League A before the play-offs to Friborg-Gottéron . He then returned to Finland, where he played for Jokerit in the KHL until 2016 .
International
Niklas Hagman represented his home country as a member of the Finnish national team at several world championships , the Olympic Games and the 2004 World Cup of Hockey .
