Jason Marshall (born February 22, 1971 in Cranbrook , British Columbia ) is a former Canadian ice hockey player ( defender ) who was active during his active career for the Kölner Haie and the Frankfurt Lions from the German Ice Hockey League . At the end of the 2007/08 season he ended his ice hockey career.
Career
After he had played one year in his youth for the Vernon Lakers in the British Columbia Junior Hockey League , Team Canada and the Tri-City Americans in the Western Hockey League , he moved to the St. Louis Blues in National Hockey in 1991 League . From the Blues, he was selected ninth overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft . However, between 1991 and 1994 he played almost exclusively in their IHL farm team in Peoria .
After his subsequent move to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim , he established himself in their team and played a large part of his 569 NHL games by the 2000/01 season . After a brief stint with the Washington Capitals , he went three more years in the best league in the world for the Minnesota Wild on the ice. The end of the 2003/04 season he graduated for the San Jose Sharks .
For the 2005/06 season he returned to the Mighty Ducks, but during the season he was sent to the Portland Pirates farm team . During the lockout he was active for the Czech extra division HC Plzeň . In the 2006/07 season he played with the Kölner Haien, where he led the league's penalty times statistics. He spent the 2007/08 season with the Frankfurt Lions before ending his active career in 2008.
