Chad Allan (born July 12, 1976 in Davidson , Saskatchewan ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player .
Career
As a junior he played in the WHL with the Saskatoon Blades together with some later NHL players like Norm Maracle . He was drawn in 65th place in the third round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft by the Vancouver Canucks .
The Canucks brought him in 1996 to the Syracuse Crunch , their farm team in the American Hockey League . In 2000, Allan moved to the AHL for the St. John's Maple Leafs . The Belfast Giants (British Elite Ice Hockey League ) brought him to Europe in 2001. After a season with the Northern Irish, he spent two seasons in Germany at ERC Ingolstadt in the DEL . The subsequent return to North America, this time in the United Hockey League , was short-lived. In the current season he moved to SC Bietigheim-Bissingen in the 2nd Bundesliga . Despite a severe cruciate ligament injury at the end of the 2005/06 season , he was able to extend his contract with SC-Bietigheim Bissingen. After a few games with SC Bietigheim-Bissingen in the 2006/07 season , he moved to the Austrian ice hockey league for the Vienna Capitals .
International
With the Canadian national team Allan took part in the Junior World Championships in 1995 and 1996 , where he won the gold medal with Team Canada .
