The 2004/05 season was the 14th regular season of the United Hockey League (until 1997 Colonial Hockey League ). The 14 teams each played 80 matches in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Muskegon Fury , who won the Colonial Cup for the fourth time in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Danbury Trashers were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Kansas City Outlaws were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Motor City Mechanics were added to the league as an expansion team.
- The Adirondack Icehawks changed their name to Adirondack Frostbite.
