The 2007/08 season was the 17th regular season of the International Hockey League ( Colonial Hockey League until 1997 , United Hockey League until 2007 ). The six teams completed 76 matches each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Fort Wayne Komets , who won the Turner Cup in the play-offs .
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Chicago Hounds stopped playing.
- The Elmira Jackals switched to the ECHL .
- The Port Huron Flags stopped playing.
- The Quad City Mallards went inactive.
- The Rockford IceHogs discontinued the game operations and took over the previously inactive franchise of the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks , whereupon they also continued to play in the American Hockey League under the name Rockford IceHogs .
- The Port Huron Icehawks were added to the league as an expansion team.
