The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League (short: MAHL ) was an American ice hockey minor league that was founded in November 2007 in the "Mid-Atlantic" region ( New Jersey , New York and Pennsylvania ). In February 2008, the game was set and in September of the same year, the league broke up after only one season. The only champions of the league were the Indiana Ice Miners , who led the table at the time of the cancellation in the 2007/08 season with 31 wins and only one loss.

The main goal of the league was to give former college and junior players the opportunity to gain professional experience so that they can make the leap to the higher leagues. League president was Andrew Haines , former chairman of the Atlantic Indoor Football League .

The 2007-08 season was the only season the Mid-Atlantic Hockey League played . The five teams played between 30 and 32 matches in the regular season before the game had to be stopped due to financial problems. The team of the regular season with the highest points by a large margin up to that point were the Indiana Ice Miners , who were then named champions of the MAHL.
